In alignment with this guiding philosophy, the masterplan for the Justice Palace District was charted out with precision and foresight. Spearheaded by the lead architect, the initiative focused on enhancing the boulevards, retaining the charm of existing shops while ushering in a wave of new establishments. This fresh infusion brought diversity to the table, with a myriad of retail options, coffee shops, and restaurants catering to varied tastes, spanning both sides of the boulevard.
A central theme of this urban planning was the enhancement of pedestrian experience. Not only did walkability receive a significant boost, but cycling lanes were also introduced, reflecting modern urban standards. At its core, the plan stressed on seamless connectivity and integration, ensuring the district resonated with the surrounding areas and the city's broader landscape, both at macro and micro levels.
Beyond the physical structures, there was a broader vision. A comprehensive tourism strategy was laid down, aimed at intertwining the district's assets, elevating the neighborhood's service standards, and celebrating the historic significance of the Old Riyadh city wall through inspired design elements.
At the architectural helm of this project, preserving the timeless Najdi identity was paramount. However, the canvas was also adorned with strokes of the Salmani Architectural language, intertwining heritage with innovation. This fusion not only enriched the urban environment but also highlighted the district as a landmark where architecture, landscape, and urban planning come together in harmony.
